About
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I am walking The Dales Way at the end of July to raise money to help Izzy Palmer achieve her dream of competing in the 2020 Paralympics games. The route is 78 miles from Ilkey in West Yorkshire to Bowness-on-Windermere in Cumbria. Izzy Palmer was born in September 2000, shortly before her first birthday she was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy causing right sided hemiplegia. Izzy is an inspirational young athlete, I was lucky enough to meet her when I presented her with the 2017 Sue Ryder Yorkshire Woman of Achievement in Sport Award. Izzy first began horse riding at 2 years old and found that riding helped with her balance and coordination. She was inspired by the 2012 Paralympics. She began competing in para dressage at 11 years old and is now the national champion in her grade in para dressage. Izzy has represented Great Britain 5 times and is now aiming for the Europeans, the World Equestrian Games and Tokyo 2020! For more information about Izzy please visit her website at http://www.izzypalmerdressage.co.uk/
