So this year I am taking on a trio of "athletic" events to raise money for two charities that are very important to me.
The events include two half marathons (one of which Antoine Cousseau will be joining as his first 1/2 marathon) in March and in May and a ONE HUNDRED MILE cycle ride (I actually want to cry typing that) in August ☀️☀️.
One of the charities that I am raising money for is the AMAZING The Listening Place, a charity that really couldn't be much closer to much of my immediate and extended family. I know I am nearly constantly requesting money for TLP but it is an amazing place that does truly wonderful things every single day for some very vulnerable people and relies on donations to keep going and expanding to meet demand.
Your donations meant that TLP can continue doing brilliant work supporting those who no longer feel life is worth living and in exchange I promise to run around a lot and ride a distance equivalent to cycling to Southampton from London and half way back again (!!). I did less than half the cycling distance last year with 13 students and I can only assure you I couldn't walk properly for two days so this new event may well be the end of me. I am really not a natural born cyclist, and have never cycled anything like this far or hilly before, so any support you can give would make all the difference in light of the weeks of training runs and rides I have facing me between now and August.
