Thank you for visiting my Givey page.
This year I am taking on my biggest challenge so far, the Prudential Ride London-Surrey on the 29th July 2018. A 100 mile cycling challenge, starting from the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, through central London and out into the Surrey Countryside; at which point I will tackle the biggest ascent on the route at Leith Hill and onto Box Hill, then heading back into London, finishing on The Mall.
The other challenge for me is that I'm completing this on my own, no cycling buddies to keep me going. Training is going well, with nearly 600 miles cycled since the beginning of April, with many more to come before the big day.
This year I'm raising money for The Dylan Howells Foundation.
The Dylan Howells Foundation has been setup to champion individuals and sports clubs, encouraging children and young adults to develop and progress in their sport. It will help them enjoy life to the maximum and to fulfil their ambitions, however big or small.
The charity was set-up by family and friends of Dylan who tragically passed away suddenly in July 2016 aged 41 from a heart arrhythmia, leaving behind him a wife, two children and a large group of friends and family devastated. Dylan was an avid triathlete and keen fan of many sports including rugby, football, boxing and athletics. The Foundation will provide funding to sports clubs in need of equipment, sponsor events to encourage participation and help individuals with their training needs, striving to replicate Dylan’s spirit of sportsmanship and his natural ability to bring out the best in people. It will inspire communities through activity, teamwork, achievement and most importantly – fun.
Any donations, big or small are much appreciated. Thank you very much Emma xxx
