Katherine Martin is raising £2,000 for International Needs UK
Many of you know I run (plod) long distances regularly so another marathon is nothing new. However this opportunity came my way and once I had started looking into the reasons behind why International Needs were fundraising, it broke my heart watching their link To summarise, International Needs UK and the money raised here will go towards building a Learning and Talent Centre for street boys in Nairobi. In the last census held there in 2018, there were 47, 000 street families, made up of 72% men and 27% women, with 60, 000 street children. The young boys/men live in awful conditions, suffer abuse and exploitation and often turn to solvent abuse to forget their situation. Pastor Joshua has been helping support the street boys since 2006 and IN needs are wanting to fundraise through different avenues including having people run VLM and fundraise for them so they can support his work in Kenya and help raise the money for the construction of the Centre. As a mum of two boys I am very aware of the stark and heartbreaking differences between the life my two have had compared to the lives the street boys have so please, if you can spare any money to help support International Needs UK, both they and I would be very grateful.
