Hello! Malik and Mehboob Welfare is an International Charitable Incorporated Organisation. We conduct work in several international regions, which you can see at malikandmehboobwelfare.org. Time is of the essence! Refugees/Internally displaced people in the Turkey-Syria region need our help now! The situation in the towns/tent cities/in the region is dire, dark and sub-human. There is a non-existent presence of large charities or organisations like the UN. Smaller charities like Malik and Mehboob Welfare are on the ground to make real-life changing impact. The fallout from the continuous waring of internal and external forces within Syria has left immense bloodshed and severely impacted children and families. These lengthy battles for stronghold have launched lengthy bombardment campaigns in many of these regions. Those refugees residing in Turkish cities like Adana have nothing to return too, some have returned, but others especially widowed and orphaned children find it very difficult or near impossible to return and so are now living in squalor. You can see a live map here of the current situation in Syria; http://syria.liveuamap.com/ This fundraiser is for the joint regions of Turkey (cities like Adana where refugees from Syria have fled to) to Syrian refugee camps (Idlib and Tafas) where we have teams on the ground. In both regions Malik and Mehboob Welfare has made a huge difference to families, widows and children. But unfortunately, it is not enough. Recently flooding occurred in Idlib due to immense rainfall, which led to over 50,000 losing their shelters (rescue tents). So, the CIO has focussed this fundraiser on short-term relief for those in Syria in the form of material relief items (food, clothing etc). The focus on the funds raised for Turkey will be to create long-term change and sustainability for these families, whilst also providing food aid alongside supporting a range of services that have been set up (Safe havens for refugees, schools, rehabilitation/medical centres etc). The main emphasis for the future is for Malik and Mehboob Welfare to try and implement and provide more long-term policies to create sustainability for these families, so we can get them off this destructive and never-ending cycle of 'short term aid'. Let's show these people in need that it's not just some charities and a handful of people who care, but that there are many of us who do, with big hearts and open arms!
