I’m digging out my running shoes to light up the night in support of dance for wellbeing, for reasons both personal and work-related… Please support me in this personal challenge whilst raising money for an important cause.
I have the joy of working with some truly inspiring colleagues and communities at Pavilion Dance, and this run is in support of those living with chronic conditions who find joy, strength and support though the power of movement, music, and connection.
Every single penny raised will go directly to support our Parkinson’s Dance classes for those living with Parkinson’s, and our Groove to Improve classes that support older adults living with chronic back pain. These programmes aren’t just classes – they’re lifelines. They offer physical and emotional wellbeing, a deep sense of belonging, and a joyful space to move freely and feel supported.
The Parkinson’s Dance Science approach began in 2012. It was co-founded by neuro-physiotherapist Dr. Sophia Hulbert and dance artist Aimee Hobbs, with support from Pavilion Dance. This method combines physiotherapy knowledge with the artistic experience of dance to help manage Parkinson’s symptoms. Its aim is to offer a personal, social, creative, and evidence-based dance experience. At the heart of every class are the dancers themselves. They inspire us and continue to drive our mission to bring dance to people living with Parkinson’s 💛
Thank you so much for your support…and wish me luck x
