At Givey, we recognise that privacy and security is a major concern. We have therefore set out below the guidelines we use for protecting your personal information.

The website is owned and operated by Givey Limited. We are committed to safeguarding your privacy online.

This policy is reviewed regularly and if there is a material change you will be notified by email.

We may pass your contact details on to the charity you have donated to, if you have consented for us to do this. They may use your details to thank you for your donation and to open up a conversation with you. We only share your personal information in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable laws. You may contact Givey at any time with any privacy questions or concerns and to see the personal information you have given us and request correction.


The primary purpose for Givey collecting your data is to provide the service. If youu have chosen to receive email updates from us then we may contact you from time to time - you can then request to change your communication preferences or amend any information we hold, as well as request deletion from our platform by contacting us or through your account settings.

Your Information

When a Givey user registers at we ask for information such as your name, e-mail address, postal address, contact and Gift Aid details. We then keep a record of this information. All of this is necessary so we can recognise you as a registered user, pass on the correct details with your donation and ensure that you are happy with the service you receive - you can choose to donate anonymously without registering with Givey, in this circumstance your information won't be passed on to the charity.

We keep a record of any donation you make using Givey. This is so we can help to deal more quickly with any queries or problems you may have, and also so we can ensure that any information that we send to you is relevant.

The donations you make via Givey create content for the site - ‘donation strings’ - and these appear in several places (your profile, charity profile, profiles of other users involved in the donation). This content will remain on the site unless you request that it be removed, please note that some information must be retained in order for us to fullfill our service to charities, for example address details and details of your donation pertaining to Gift Aid

We keep a record of any e-mail correspondence you send us, so we can track any problems or concerns you've had while using our platform.

We'll also ask you questions at registration, and from time to time by email, that will give us information that will be used to improve your experience of donating using your Givey account. You do not have to answer these questions, but if you do we can communicate with you in a more relevant way.

If you would like to revise the information you have provided to us, or feel that what we currently have on record is incorrect, you can change this in your Givey account at any time or contact us if you want a backup of your information or to delete your account.

Using Your Information

All the information we collect via our website, or through correspondence with you is used to operate and improve the service we offer you and to personalise our service. We are committed to using your personal information only for:

Passing on your information to the charity you have donated to so they can respond to your donation and continue a conversation with you if they choose to.

Technical administration of our website.

Providing you with information about the services we offer.

If you have given us permission to do so, we may occasionally email you, letting you know about offers from other charities who we believe may interest you, either by sending out the information ourselves to you directly, or by providing certain details to other companies so they may contact you directly.

To verify details of your payment method or credit card account.

During your registration process you are given the opportunity to select some of the ways in which we may use your details. This can be amended at any time by managing your settings in your account or contacting us.

Circumstances where we may share some of your data with others:

In order to provide the service and facilitate donations we will need to share your information with our payment provider in order to complete a transaction and to charities or HMRC for Gift Aid.

If we are requested by the police or a regulatory or government authority investigating illegal activities to provide information concerning your activities whilst using the network we shall do so.

With your employer if they are using the Givey for Business service, and your personal account is, or has been, linked.

We use cookies to store your user session, this includeds fundraising pages and charity admin accounts, if you do not accept cookies some parts of the Givey website may not function as intended.

Some of our third party service providers are located outside of the United Kingdom, your data is transmitted encryped and any data processing is done in the UK

We take every precaution to protect your information. To this end all personal information stored by us is stored in a secure environment and encrypted in transmission. Only employees, our partners and any sub-contractors who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information.
