Since 2020 I have taken up running, last year I managed to complete the Stafford 10K. This year I want to set myself a challenge so I have signed up for the Stafford ½ Marathon.
I would like to use this challenge to raise money for 'The Heart of Weston' my local village charity. The charity was set up in loving memory of two brothers who died tragically of ‘Sudden Adult Death Syndrome’. The Heart of Weston has been established to give something back to the village. The community-based charity aims to help and protect others living in Weston and surrounding villages.
The aim of the charity is to: Maintain the defibrillator situated within the Village and provide heart screening for 14–35-year-olds (12 young people die of a cardiac arrest in the UK every week). Alongside this, training courses have been set up for those interested to see how the defibrillator works and provide some general first aid training.
I also work for Vodafone, and they will match the amount that I raise up to a total of £1000.
So, every penny raised is doubled!
