Iain Wood is raising £1,000 for Bowel Cancer UK
About
35,000 people a year are diagnosed with bowel cancer. It took the life of England World Cup Captain Bobby Moore. It took the Teenage Cancer Trust fundraiser Steven Sutton... And it took my mother-in-law. All were far too young. Many of you will know of someone affected by bowel and colon conditions. I set a goal to complete the Chester Triathlon. The challenge was to swimming a mile in the river Dee, cycling 25 miles and running 10km. That's hard when your unfit, can barely swim 10 lengths in a pool, and are the wrong side of 50. But to make it really worthwhile the challenge was to complete it in under 3 hours. How much money could I raise doing just that? How about 10 for each of my birthdays? That's over 500. But what if I made I made it even harder? Maybe I could raise more. And if it became insanely hard how much could be raised then? So was born TheTenTriMan - an old blokes insane charity challenge. 100 Days - 10 Triathlons - and an average finishing position in the top 25% of my age group. Now that's gonna hurt me a lot more than donating a tenner to this charity will hurt you! Please support this charity.
