Eilidh Graham is raising £200 for Bikes for Refugees (Scotland)
About
Some of you know I'm lucky to be traveling in Spain and Portugal just now on my bike, having a winter holiday in a warmer climate to keep me happy and healthy. I had a bit if trouble getting here as the ferry was not taking bicylces or pedestrians... but as I was hanging around Portsmouth (with some nice new friends who gave me a bed and lovley conpany) working out a way to get here, I was thinking about my friends, and many others who have had to try so much harder to move from one place to another, not for leisure or choice. I thought about them again when I cycled from Spain to Portugal. I was so grateful of the open border (thank you EU! :'( ) and that I didn't have to stop and show anyone my papers to prove that I was allowed to be going to that country. I had seen the Bikes for Refugees fundraising idea on the socials but didn't think much of it as i feel like I'm always raising funds for something! I stopped for a wee rest once I got into Portugal and felt so grateful for the amount of freedom i have... and my bike! So i thought i might as well share my adventure and try to raise some money for this awesome charity who provide bikes for New Scots. The bikes provide a cheap way of travelling around their new city, but hopefully give great joy and sense of freedom in which i get from my bicycle! So if you can spare a couple of quid it really does go a long way in helping get someone a bike who doesn't have the funds to buy one. Which can really transform their life in many ways, by increasing physical and mental health, being able to access more vital resources in the community, and also create better social and nature connections. Thank you for your support!!
