About
Dear All, On April the 16th I will be competing in the 122nd Boston Marathon. Although my 10th marathon, it’s a big one for me as it is a qualification only entry race, and one of the ‘Big Five’ international marathons on my 'Bucket List'. A number of tragic events have touched my life in the past year or so that have made me appreciate how fortunate I am to be healthy enough to go and run Boston, and how none of us should take our health for granted. As a result I have decided to try and raise some money for a great cause close to home. The Dylan Howells Foundation, is a local charity in Surrey set up in the memory of Dylan Howells - a friend and fellow Thames Turbo Triathlon Club member who, despite being very fit and active, passed away suddenly from a heart arrhythmia aged just 41. The Foundation will continue to keep alive his passion to encourage children and young people to participate in sport from all backgrounds and ability. More information can be found regarding the work of the Foundation by clicking on the logo on this page. While I appreciate that we are often asked to support good causes, I hope that you will be able to find a way to pledge something to support this superb charity.. For my part, I can pledge that I will be giving all that I have in me out on course using these stories as inspiration and motivation. Many thanks Phil
