We’re organising a sponsored walk across all the walkable bridges of the River Thames, from Hammersmith Bridge to Tower Bridge, to raise money for Shadwell Basin Outdoor Activity Centre.
Shadwell Basin is a place that gives young people real opportunities - from kayaking and climbing all the way to residential trips in Scotland, Wales, the Lake District and even abroad. The charity offers outdoor adventure while teaching core life skills and making a genuine difference in Tower Hamlets, especially for young people who might not otherwise have access to these experiences.
On Saturday 10th January 2026, our group will walk approximately 26 kilometres, crossing every pedestrian-accessible bridge along most of the Thames in London. We’ll be alternating sides of the river at each bridge, following the Thames Path as closely as possible. It’ll take around 6–7 hours in total, and every participant is taking part to support the centre and the work it does.
Any donation at all helps keep Shadwell Basin deliver affordable, high-quality outdoor activities for the community. Thank you for supporting us, and thank you for supporting the young people who rely on this brilliant centre.
