I will be running 10km in the Kew Gardens on Saturday 9 September to raise funds to support the much-needed works of Mortlake Community Association (MCA).
I started my role at the Mortlake Community Association just over a year ago. A project that originally started as a warm hub called the Warm Soup Club has shaped MCA's strategic future. The success of the project shows that Mortlake’s need for a welcoming community space that local residents and those from surrounding areas can call their own and feel included and supported.
We have made a very good start: we now run a weekly community hub that offers simple, nutritious lunch and good company. We have recruited a fantastic team of volunteers and we continue to look for more volunteers. We have partnered with several organisations who come to our Community Hub and provide advice and support. Sometimes the simplest and best solution is a friendly chat over a cup of tea. I envision a flourishing Mortlake Community Hub, buzzing with community. MCA through his past and present work is well positioned to make this happen.
I have decided to run 10km to raise funds to further develop and grow what MCA can currently offer.
Please support our efforts to build a flourishing Mortlake Community Hub by sponsoring me.
