About
At Foreland Fields Charity we have a clear mission: to offer support, education, and life opportunities to young people living with Profound, Severe, and Complex Needs, enabling them to achieve their own goals. We are requesting help with funding create a first of it’s kind education, recreation and training centre for special education needs young people and adults. This will also be a facility to cater for people with disabilities. The project will be known as “The Hive”. We have built a low level, single storey, fully accessible pavilion that will enable the delivery of a community specialist training and learning hub, which will be situated behind Foreland Fields School. This centre will house an outdoor training facility, learning facilities such as an outdoor classroom , horticulture area, cycling track, forest school ,football pitch / sports field and an art learning space. The pavilion will include hoists in the changing facilities, accessible toilets, a multi-purpose education, activity / training space and a training kitchen. The pavilion will be fully accessible, with hoists in the changing facilities and accessible toilets. Kent Count Council has already provided towards this project, which has covered the cost of the development of the sports fields, linking roads, utilities, forest school and horticulture centre. The funding for the building has also been raised and it has been installed. Foreland Fields Charity was set up in June 2018 to help advance the education and life opportunities of young people living in Thanet and Kent, with profound, severe and complex needs (PSCN) and additional difficulties arising from physical disabilities, sensory impairments or Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Aid is given by providing equipment, activities and resources, providing support to develop their skills capacities and capabilities, and so helping them to participate in society as independent and responsible individuals, developing their mental, physical, and moral capabilities through educational and leisure time activities, and providing recreational and leisure time activities in the interest of social welfare, designed to improve their conditions of life.
