The current ebola crisis is hitting Sierra Leone hard. As well as the human tragedy that is unfolding, Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary is also at risk. The sanctuary used to raise much of its running costs from visitors to the sanctuary but most of these visitors have left the country and to minimise the risk of the ebola virus reaching the sanctuary, it has had to close its doors. The sanctuary continues to care for almost 100 chimpanzees and 30 staff and volunteers. Nobody knows how long it will take to conquer ebola and when visitors will regain the confidence to visit this beautiful country and amazing sanctuary. Please give today and ensure that we can continue to feed and care for the chimps and staff in these uncertain times. This campaign will cover the sanctuary running costs for one month.
Friends of Tacugama is the UK registered charity supporting Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary.
