For many years, our Year 6 children have proudly sponsored children overseas to attend school and receive an education. This forms part of their Human Rights studies, where they learn about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, which states that every child has the right to an education.
Through fundraising activities such as cake sales and sponsored events, our pupils have raised money to support children in Asia and Africa, where education is not always free. We work in partnership with the charity International Needs to ensure these funds directly support children's education.
We are currently sponsoring Alassane from Burkina Faso. This year, our School Fundraising Leaders would like to invite every child in the school to help support this important cause by taking part in a sponsored run on Monday 13th July.
During the event, children will run as many laps as they can around the school field, with a shorter course available for our infant pupils.
