Hello and welcome to my funding page for my London Marathon run on the 26th April 2026 which I will be running on behalf of Parable Dance.
The reason I have chosen the run for Parable is it is a cause close to my heart as my wife Megan Weeks was mentored by Natasha in a previous dance school who has helped her with her well-being, self-confidence, dancing abilities & providing opportunities.
Ever since Natasha formed Parable Dance she has taken Megan under her wing in order to involve her in activities and classes as a mentor/dance assistant and we encourage this by either myself or Megan’s parents driving Megan to wherever the classes are being held (either Brighton where Parable are based or a local school).
Parable dance itself is a fantastic organisation which offers the opportunity to people with special needs of any kind to come down and get involved in dance classes whether that be in their workshops in Brighton or in online classes for those unable to travel.
The classes involve different activities from warming up, sensory classes, using props and dancing to a particular theme (which is then showcased to friends and family in a final/end of term dance class) and many others.
All of this of course provides benefits for these people to be included in something great where they can express themselves, get essential exercise, socialise and gain skills that they may be able to use throughout their lives …and have lots of fun.
Having been involved in some workshops and watched classes and the end of year dance projects that they have held, I have been able to see personally see the impact Parable Dance has had on many of its students and teachers throughout the years.
Thank you so much for your time reading.
Gary
