About
Saturday 16th August 2014 10 Veolia Colleagues will be getting absolutely plastered??? No not a session on the alcohol Our team of enthusiastic colleagues Lee Slater, Anne-Marie Perkins, Debbie Bell, Sarah Bolas, Steph Priest, Mike Davies, Josh Reynolds, Charlotte Ashford, Clare Kidd, Lisa Evans will be taking part in the craze that has swept America The Birmingham Color Run, this is a 5k (3m) Run/Walk taking place at the NEC, Birmingham. "All for charity mate" our chosen charity for this event is our Corporate Social Responsibility partners Burntwood CFR. These wonderful people who are volunteers provide a vital service to our private and working communities, responding to emergency calls on behalf of West Midlands Ambulance Service, prior to the arrival of an ambulance. They are trained to a nationally recognised level and can be requested to attend to medical emergencies such as cardiac arrest, chest pain and breathing problems. The Burntwood and District scheme began in June 2013 responding to respond to 999 calls across Cannock, taking in the villages of Norton Canes, Great Wryley, Cheslyn Hay, Heath Hayes, Brownhills, Hednesford, Cannock Wood, Hazelslade & surrounding areas. They currently have five active responders with an additional three members undertaking training. This service is manned entirely by its volunteers and they receive no external funding. This means they're totally reliant on fund raising for everything from vehicle fuel through to uniforms and driver training. Found out more about these special folks and the wonderful work they do here www.facebook.com/BurntwoodCFR & www.burntwoodcfr.org.uk Please if you can support our brave team members in the Birmingham Color Run and help us raise funds for this wonderful charity we would be extremely grateful. Thank you!
