Irwin Mitchell is raising £20,000 for Irwin Mitchell Charities Foundation
About

National law firm Irwin Mitchell is set to take its fundraising efforts to a new level this October as they mark the 20th anniversary of their charitable foundation.

The Irwin Mitchell Charities Foundation (IMCF) was founded in 1997 by partners and employees of Irwin Mitchell with the aim of supporting organisations which provide a vital service to the communities in which the law firm operates. It has since raised and donated more than £1.5 million for good causes both in the UK and abroad.

Now, to mark the 20th anniversary milestone, employees from the law firm’s 13 offices across the UK are preparing events and initiatives to raise as much money as possible for IMCF throughout the month of October.

With a target of £20,000, £1000 for each year of IMCF’s existence, all the funds will be distributed to each office’s Charity of the Year; local good causes which have been nominated by staff.

As part of the celebrations IMCF are raffling off an additional day of annual leave to members of staff in each office, selling limited edition IMCF merchandise, holding an office wide quiz, hosting a charity talent show, publishing a cook book compiled by employees, and have teams being sponsored to take part in a Rough Runner race amongst many other events for good causes.

Funds raised for the 20th anniversary campaign will be divided evenly between each of our offices' Charities of the Year for 2017:

Birmingham Children's Hospital (Birmingham)

The Anchor Society (Bristol)

Stars (Cambridge)

Dementia Support (Chichester)

Crawley Open House (Gatwick)

Refuweegee (Glasgow)

Age UK (Leeds)

Friendship Works (London)

Mustard Tree (Manchester)

Thames Valley Air Ambulance (Newbury)

Rape Crisis Tyneside and Northumberland (Newcastle)

Paces (Sheffield)

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (Southampton)

IMCF Trustee, Adrian Budgen, a partner at the firm’s headquarters in Sheffield, and six other partners are getting involved by spending an hour working in the firm’s contact centre to hold a charity sweepstake of who can deliver the best customer service. Adrian said: “The Irwin Mitchell Charities Foundation has been an incredible success since its launch and its 20th anniversary is undoubtedly something to celebrate. We are immensely proud to have been able to support a host of fantastic causes down the years and are committed to helping many more going forward.

“As a firm we have always placed a great emphasis on being actively involved in the communities where we are based and the IMCF has provided us with a strong platform for doing just that.

“There is no better way to mark this milestone than by doubling our efforts throughout October to raise vital funds which will help the fantastic charities that we currently support.”
