Amelia Thompson is raising £1,000 for Acorn Overseas Charity for Children
About
On Saturday 30th May 2015, 8 year old Issy Anstee is getting her hair cut off for Acorn Overseas charity and donating the hair to the Princes Trust. Acorn Overseas is a 100% non-profit charity, which looks after 46 orphaned children in it's own orphanage in Mae Sot, Thailand. The orphanage costs £12,000 a year to run, including feeding, educating and dressing the children. One meal for a child costs just 11p, making the cost of feeding all the children three meals a day just £15.18. We want to make as much money as possible to donate whilst visiting the orphanage in June 2015, and have a little left over to get the children some treats! So head down to the Exchange bar, Leicester, on May 30th, where there will be a big cake sale and see Issy bravely having her hair chopped at 3.30pm by HAIR@1RD.
