On 27th July I’m doing the big one, the first Leeds Iron Man competition! After running the Leeds marathon twice I wanted to take my challenges to the next level and what better way than signing my body up to a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile cycle and 26 mile run all in one go (easy right?). My training is in full swing and I’m really excited to slap on my new wetsuit and push myself harder than I’ve ever done before. I’m doing the Iron Man in aid of Sarah’s Pink Events, they’re a Leeds based breast cancer charity raising money for St. James’ Breast Care Unit and Cancer Research UK. The charity was founded by the late Sarah Pattinson who is the mum of my good friend Mitch. I’ve done fundraising for them before with the Yorkshire three peaks and marathons but this is what it’s all been leading towards. Please dig deep and give what you can and keep me in your thoughts on the big day (and a few days after while I recover) and keep an eye out for the next crazy challenge I set myself!
