About
It's no secret that I have a lifelong love of long locks. So much so, I haven’t had a proper haircut since the pandemic started - much to my wife’s dismay! To help my sister raise the money she needs to send my niece to the NAPA Centre in London for Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) Treatment, I will be chopping off my cherished locks! My locks will be donated to the Little Princess Trust who help provide real hair for wigs to children undergoing treatment for cancer. I would love to get as close to the target before the date on 18th March, so please donate if you can. For more information on this amazing cause please read below. In addition to the equipment Elodie desperately needs, her Mum has also been applying for her to have Intensive Model of Therapy (IMOT) treatment. When treating children with cerebral palsy and other neurological disorders this treatment model is increasingly used throughout the world as patients, therapists, and doctors recognise its many benefits and outstanding results. Therapists create a customised program for each patient that varies in time, duration, intensity, and the tools used. Children often advance to the next developmental skill or higher during the program. In the last program of ‘Intensive’ treatments Elodie went to last year, within 2 days she learnt to turn her head more frequently and gained and increase in her trunk and head control. In 2024 Elodie's mum has managed to secure an IMOT place at the brand-new NAPA centre in Harlow where she will receive speech and language, DMI therapy, physiotherapy, Neurosuit, Spider Cage, Speech and language and Spinal stim for 4 hours a day over a three-week period. Elodie's mum has also worked tirelessly to bring a world leading DMI professional over from the states for more intensive DMI therapy (DMI on the Fly). Understandably this amazing progressive therapy (not available on the NHS or privately locally) comes at a significant cost. The treatment, accommodation and travel will cost in excess of £10,000. I really appreciate any donation as big or as small to this amazing cause - you’ll make me as happy as my wife will be once I get a haircut.
