Kiki Pattison - Smith is raising £250 for Candlelighters Trust
About
As many of you will know from my unrelenting Facebook status updates, I have been running a fair bit recently. 'Cause I'm a wimp, I've never had the guts to enter a sponsored event before now, but recently I've been inspired by the story of a very brave little girl and her family. At 3 years old, Brooke was diagnosed with Leukaemia. This gorgeous little girl was taken by the disease just a few weeks later. It's impossible to know what Brooke and her family have gone through, but despite having to deal with this unimaginable loss, those close to Brooke have still managed to rally together and do some amazing fundraising for Candlelighters - a Yorkshire-based Charity who supported Brooke and her family throughout her illness. A bit more about Candlelighters: "When a child is diagnosed with cancer, lives are turned upside down in an instant. Not just for the child but for their parents, siblings, family and friends. Priorities change and everyday concerns suddenly seem trivial. Getting well again can be a long and challenging journey, physically, emotionally and financially. Helping and supporting those children and their families is why Candlelighters was formed more than 40 years ago and it is why we are still here today." Please give whatever you can to this amazing cause. In return you get to force me across the start line - and with any luck through the finish line - of the Great North Run. I promise I will run as fast as my little legs will take me, in memory of Brooke and in aid of Candlelighters.
