About
I will be running the London Marathon for the second year in a row - this time in memory of my wonderful mum, Kate Trelford. She certainly was not a runner (better at tennis), but was a big sports fan in general - never missing Wimbledon or the 6 Nations. Her brother Richard ran the London Marathon in the 1980s and we were there on the side lines cheering him on. Last year she sat glued to the TV screen hoping to see me run over the finish line but someone knocked on the door at the crucial moment....but she went back and watched it on i player until she found me! Despite never understanding my need to run, she was a massive support to me in all things, and was also a regular donor to Prithi UK, appreciating the fantastic work it does in Sri Lanka and always wanting to hear about its projects and how she could support it. Given her 40+ years career as an English teacher, education was so important to her, so I know the refurnishment projects at Cottagala School would be dear to her heart, which is why this Active April we are raising money in her memory for this vital work.
