Mark Bourton is raising £250 for Acorns Children's Hospice
About
Acorns Children's Hospice is the chosen charity for Nationwide Building Society branches in the Midlands - and what a fantastic charity for us to be supporting this year! Acorns Children's hospice provides care for local children and young people with life limiting and life threatening conditions, as well as support for their families. I visited one the hospices in Selly Oak earlier this year and was truly inspired by the amazing work the staff do and how the hospice helps. I was incredibly shocked to learn that it costs £22,500 per DAY to run the 3 hospices and they rely solely on charitable donations. I really want to try and raise as much money as possible throughout the year and as a group of managers we will be completing a 14-mile sponsored walk around Bridgnorth, Shropshire on the 25th May 2015. Everyone that knows me will know walking isn't my 1st choice of getting from A to B, so this won't be an easy task!!! The money raised from my sponsorship will help towards Acorns continuing to provide these vital care services so don't hesitate and donate - Even if it's only a few pounds! • £4 could pay for medical disposables and medication for a child for a day • £18 could pay for a therapy session • £32 could pay for one hour of care for a child • £68 could pay for a support session for a young person or bereaved family • £98 could pay for a week's food for a child during their stay. Thank you so much for supporting me, support Acorns!
