About
Dementia is a disease that has a physical, psychological, social and economical impact upon individuals with the disease, their caregivers, families and society. In the UK 850,000 people are living with dementia and there is currently no cure. The Alzheimer's Society helps people who are affected by dementia in a range of ways, such as: *Providing support information to those affected by the disease *Funding research to improve knowledge of the causes, care, and treatments of dementia *Giving people with dementia a public voice by influencing government policy We are a team of 6 dementia researchers from UCL, and we have decided to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society to help support their work. We are taking on the Yorkshire 3 Peak Challenge on 25th July 2015. This is a 25 mile trek through the Yorkshire Dales that takes an average of 12 hours to complete. Our joint fundraising target is 1,500 pounds, and we are grateful for your donations.
