Jo Goodman is raising £200 for St Nicholas Hospice Care
About
St Nicholas Hospice Care works compassionately in the fields of life-threatening illness, death and bereavement. They provide practical, medical and spiritual support to local people and their families living with an illness that is life threatening; such as cancer, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease, heart or lung disease. Although I don't know anyone who has been into this particular hospice (it is based in Bury St Edmunds and I grew up in East London and went to uni in Reading) I do know people who have been into hospices at the end of their lives and the comfort and support given to the person and their families is completely priceless. Unfortunately, it costs around £11,000 a day to run St Nicholas Hospice, most of which comes from supporters and fundraisers. Now, for the event itself - Girl's Night Out is a sponsored walk around Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk. It is all-female and takes place at night, in pyjamas and with light-up bunny ears, and I've signed up for the longer of the 2 walks - 11.2 miles! I completed this challenge last year so hopefully I will smash my new fundraising target and beat my time. You can find out more here: http://www.stnicholashospice.org.uk/events/girls-night-out-2015
