Meredith Robertson is raising £1,000 for Alzheimer's Society
About
This is Donald, a very clever sort of chap, who worked as a Physiologist for the MOD helping to develop all sorts of fantastic things like bullet-proof material and camping towels! Sadly, as a Civil Servant he didn't ever get to patent any of his inventions... Donald's wife, Ethel, has dementia. Her memory is actually pretty good, considering, but she has terrible problems with dysphasia and dyspraxia. It has been exruciatingly painful to watch her holding her wineglass at increasingly precarious angles! As Donald is no longer alive he can't contribute to the research that is being done to help people with dementia live better lives. So, to raise a bit of money (and maybe a few smiles) Donald and Ethel's grand-daughter Meredith and her wife Emily have signed up to run The Ealing Half Marathon on September 28th! Totally bats you say? Well we quite agree (Meredith hasn't even started training yet). However it's all for a good cause, namely The Alzheimer's Society. You can enter the caption competition once for every donation made: just write your caption in the comment / message box. After the race we'll choose a winner (and two runners up if we hit 1000) and send them a free t-shirt (so make sure you leave your email address). We'll then put t-shirts for sale on-line and let everyone else know once they are ready to be bought, with all profits going to The Alzheimer's Society, naturally. Good luck and please share our page!
