Carolyn Scott is running 13 miles for Wateringbury Explorer Scouts
About
For those that know me well know that my Mum and Dad died very suddenly, one when I was 25 and the other just recently. I miss them heaps.  My outlook on life changed each time teaching me to 'Live life to the full' and 'Make a difference every day' but most of all, have fun and challenge myself.   Starting with running the London Winter 10K run in 2018, turning 50 and jumping out of a plane in 2019!  For this years challenge I will again run the London Winter 10k run on the 9th February and then the new super crazy challenge... the Big Half Marathon from Tower Bridge to Greenwich on 1st March!    I'm fundraising for my daughter Amber's Wateringbury Explorer Scout Unit who are going to the Azores this summer.  I would like to fund raise for them all to do some super amazing activities.  This is a place that I have never been to and I am sure lots of you haven't either!!.  'You only live once', I tell my children and 'follow your dreams' but most of all 'Be happy'.   So here goes for Amber and her friends from Wateringbury Explorers Azores 2020 trip to challenge themselves, have fun and make some amazing memories.  I hope you will support me in my hope to 'Make a Difference' and help give the Explorers the trip of a lifetime to remember! I hope to inspire you all and who knows what my next challenge will be - watch this space  To find out more about Scouting in Wateringbury visit wateringbury-scouts.org.uk What we do We're Scouts and everyone's welcome here. All genders, races and backgrounds. Every week we give almost 150 people aged 6-25 the skills they need for school, college, university, the job interview, the important speech, the tricky challenge and the big dreams: the skills they need for life. ‘Scouts made me a do-er and a give it a go-er. Made me question and listen and have a wide-open mind. Scouts made me take a deep breath and speak up. Made me think on my feet, made me see the big picture, made me ignore the butterflies and go for it. Scouts made me get back up and try again. Made me think about what’s next, and plan for it. Made me jump in, get muddy, give back and get set.’ Our vision to 2023 By 2023 we will have prepared more young people with skills for life, supported by amazing leaders delivering an inspiring programme. We will be growing, more inclusive, shaped by young people and making a bigger impact in our community. Find out more about our plans at scouts.org.uk/ourplan
