James Winter is raising £1,000 for Multiple Sclerosis Trust
About
10 years ago my Mum died as a result of MS. Despite having a particularly nasty form of this illness she still tried to get as much out of life as she could and I have fond memories of myself, my sisters and my Dad pushing her in her wheelchair up mountains on our holidays. We used to get some very strange looks but we had fun. Despite her desire to live her life as best she could I don't think she ever had any wish to complete a triathlon let alone an iron distance event. However last year having completed a half iron event I (stupidly) decided a full iron distance event would be a good idea. So on the 26th of July I will be taking on the Outlaw Triathlon along with 5 of my similarly crazy friends. For those that done know an iron distance triathlon is made up of: - a 3.8k swim - a 180k cycle and then.... - a 42k run (a marathon!) This may seem like a stupid thing to do and it probably is. I'm hoping to complete it in under 11 1/2 hours or worst case in time for last orders. As you can see I am raising money for the MS Trust to help fund research and care. Please dig deep. This is my biggest sporting challenge to date so it would be great to be able to raise a load of cash. And if you would like to come and see me prance around in lycra or simply cheer me on please do :)
