Hello,
Please support my fundraiser.
I’m running the London 10K in July (for the fourth year now) to raise money for The T.E.A. Project, a charity that empowers some of Sri Lanka’s poorest and most forgotten children—the children of tea plantation workers.
I lived in Sri Lanka with my family for 7-years, therefore this project is very close to my heart. Please read on for more info about The TEA project.
For over 150 years, tea plantation workers have been trapped in a cycle of poverty, exploitation, and hardship. Their ancestors were brought from India during British
colonial rule and forced into backbreaking labour. Today, their families still work long
hours for less than £3 a day, struggling to afford food, healthcare, and education for
their children.
The T.E.A. Project is changing that.
Through free education, meals, skills training, and mental health support, The T.E.A. Project is breaking the cycle of poverty and giving these children hope for a better future.
At the Centre for Children’s Empowerment in Kandy, children from plantation communities come
to learn, eat a proper meal, and dream of a life beyond the tea fields. The project also
reaches remote schools, ensuring that no child is left behind.
This is why I’m running.
Every step I take is for a child who deserves a brighter future, a
fair chance, and a childhood filled with safety and opportunities.
Will you join me in this mission?
Even a small donation – £5, £10, £20 or whatever you can give – will go directly towards
providing food, education, and empowerment for these children. Every pound makes a difference.
