Rachelle is walking the Six Dales Challenge
About
I was lucky enough to meet Izzy when she won the 2017 Yorkshire Woman of Achievement in Sport Award, which Irwin Mitchell sponsored. Izzy was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at the age of 1. She started riding when she was 2 years old to help her with balance and the use of her weak right arm and leg. After the riding bug caught her, she started to compete in dressage and she was offered in 2016 to ride Pinocchio the gold medal winning ride of Sophie Wells MBE from the London 2012 Paralympics. Since then she has been chosen to compete internationally in Para-dressage and able-bodied competitions. This demonstrates it's about her ability, not disability. I chose Izzy as my Irwin Mitchell Be Part Of It challenge and walked the Dales Way in 2017 raising £3,000 towards getting her to Tokyo for the next Olympic games. As a horse rider I know how expensive the sport is and the time and commitment it takes to do well. I have agreed to help her again by walking the Six Dales Challenge in the Peak District which is a 26 mile walk on 9 June 2018 (and involves staying in a "youth" hostel for two nights....! For those who know me, that might be the hardest part of the challenge) I hope that you can help, no matter how small your donation, it will help her achieve her dream! #DontQuitDoIt
