About
Reg Pillinger died on 14th August. He will be greatly missed. He inspired friends and strangers alike with his great sense of humour and easy laugh recounting tales after days in the mountains or through one of his many and amusing articles, describing the comradery and friendships of shared experiences and challenges in wild places. Many people will know him for his love of mountains and wild places, and for his pioneering routes in the Peak District in the 1950's. The John Muir Trust, which connects thousands of people with nature and wild places every year, was close to his heart. For this reason we want to celebrate his amazing life by raising money to adopt as many acres as we can of one of Scotland's iconic mountains to support the John Muir Trust in protecting and preserving even more of these wild places for future generations. We have chosen Schieallion as our mountain, as the the photo above shows Reg celebrating completion of his final munro on the summit of Schiehallion, overlooking the wilds of Ranoch Moor with the many friends and family who accompanied him that day. £25 allows us to adopt 1 acre of one of Scotland's iconic mountains: Ben Nevis, Schiehallion, Ladhar Bheinn on Knoydart, and Bla Bheinn on Skye. By donating to through Givey, the John Muir Trust receives 100% of your donation (although there may be a small admin cost for GiftAided donations). Donating is completely secure, your details are safe and they never share your email address with any third parties except the Charity you donate to.
