Note: Please register with Givey.com when donating so you can add Gift Aid to your donation. On the weekend of the 30th & 31st May 2015, Mark Stevenson will run the Edinburgh 10k, and Kate Stevenson and Macit Erilen will run the full Edinburgh marathon and we want to raise as much money as possible for Myton Hospice! Mark Stevenson - 10k - 30th May For those that know Mark, they will know he doesn't do any kind of distance running! He once took part in a fun run aged six years old and has done nothing since then. Training started on the 12th January and it has been a real shock to the system. Mark will be targeting under 1hr 45mins which is the course time limit, just managing to finish will be an achievement in itself. Kate Stevenson & Macit Erilen - Marathon - 31st May Kate is an experienced runner and has run a handful of 10k and half marathons, however she has only ever completed one full marathon which was London six years ago. Kate will be looking to achieve a PB this time round. Macit is also an established runner, again running many 10k and half marathons, but like Kate he has only run one full marathon, Stratford. His PB is 3hr 40min and he is hoping to run under 3h 30min this time round. Arguably the biggest achievement for Kate and Macit over this weekend will be being in Edinburgh for two nights and not being able to drink. This was possibly the biggest contributing factor to Mark running the 10k on Saturday and not the full marathon on Sunday. This reason alone is why you should donate as much as you can to this great cause! Our Charity - The Myton Hospices On the 17th August 2007, Mark lost his dad Jim to cancer. During his illness, he spent time at the wonderful Myton Hospice inpatient unit in Warwick. The care and attention he received, and the support his family received was second to none. There are probably many of you reading this who have also had experience of the fantastic care and support Myton provide. About Myton Myton Hospice provide care and support for people with life limiting illnesses and their families at their three units based in Warwick, Rugby and Coventry, with Warwick and Coventry providing inpatient care. The services they provide are free to the patient and their family, but it does cost. In addition to the 1000 plus people who volunteer their time throughout the year for free to help Myton, they require over 8 million each year to provide the level of care and support required. Our Target Our target of 1,130 will help run an inpatient bed for two days, but we would like to think we can smash this target! If just a handful of our friends donated what they would spend on a night out we could be aiming for 2... 3... 4.... maybe even 5,000! So dig deep people and donate whatever you can, even if it's just a couple of pounds, every little helps towards Myton's 8 million target. Please remember if you are a UK tax payer to to tick the gift aid box to add 25p to every pound you donate. We have chosen Givey.com as our fundraising page as they are the only site that passes 100% of your donation to the selected charity. They also do not charge the actual charity any fees. Thanks for all your support, Mark, Kate & Macit
