After recently visiting Sri Lanka in early March, I was struck by the vulnerability of tea plantation workers. For over 150 years, these workers have been trapped in a cycle of poverty, exploitation, and hardship. Today, their families still work long hours for as little as £3 per day.
That’s why I’m running the London 10k in July- to raise money for The T.E.A. Project, which empowers Sri Lanka’s poorest and most forgotten children.
The T.E.A. Project is making a real difference.
Through free education, meals, skills training, and mental health support, The T.E.A. Project is breaking the cycle of poverty and giving these children hope for a better future.
At the Centre for Children’s Empowerment, children from plantation communities come to learn, eat a proper meal, and dream of a life beyond the tea fields. The project also reaches remote schools, ensuring that no child is left behind.
This is why I’m running. Every step I take is for a child who deserves a brighter future, a fair chance, and a childhood filled with possibility.
Will you join me in this mission?
Even a small donation- £5, £10, £20, or whatever you can give- will go directly towards providing food, education, and empowerment for these children. Every pound makes a difference.
