About
Whilst this isn’t my first attempt at the Great North Run (I think it is my fifth!). It is my first since having my two boys. I had always hoped I would get to run it for my 40th and it looks as though I got my wish. To say this will be a challenge is a bit of an understatement! Something that having the kids and enduring pandemic lockdowns has highlighted is the huge benefit that physical activity has on your mental wellbeing. It has been the key to keeping so many of us going over the last few years. North Yorkshire Sport are a charity who are passionate about driving positive change through physical activity and sport – The funds raised are being directed into work and programmes that directly support mental health using the power of sport and physical activity. Supporting specific projects including the wellbeing programme ‘Achieve’ which supports young people to build their wellbeing and resilience through working with a sporting athlete mentor. Thanks for your support everyone!
