Blanche-freda Duffy is raising £100 for Diabetes UK
About
As many of you know just over a year ago we lost Bleddyn Matthew a week after his 25th birthday to Diabetes related complications. Diabetes is something often overlooked in society and yet it is still a disease without a cure and one that many struggle to adjust and control during there day to day lives with lots of complications. Despite the last year being a tough one for us as a family we all feel extremely lucky and extremely loved to have so many friends and family that have extend so much love and kindness doing there best to keep us smiling and laughing through the sad times, words cannot describe how much this has meant. As a family we like to always try to find a positive and 'look on the bright side of life' and do things to help other people. With that in mind we are aiming to raise 10,000 pounds to donate to diabetes UK who do fantastic work in terms of carrying out research into cures and support to those diagnosed and their families. If the money raised can prevent another family having to go through the heartbreak we have it will be worth every penny. In September 40 of us are going to be running the Bristol half marathon for Bleddyn (including dad at the spritely age of 64). We are hoping the day will be full of personal achievements and a fitting tribute to Bleddyn and raise lots of money for this worthy cause so it can continue to support people to adapt and cope with this disease. Please dig deep and donate what you can. Thank you for your time Love The Duffys xxx
