***All done! Jane completed the Sundowner Half-Ironman Triathlon in 5:42.29 (Swim 39:40, T1 2:56, Cycle 3:03.14, T2 1:20, Run 1:55.17). Mike finished the Great North Run in 1:53.03. Both very proud, tired and hugely appreciative of your support. Mike and Jane XX *** On Saturday 6th September Jane will be completing the Sundowner Triathlon, it's half iron-distance. This is a 1900m swim, 56 mile cycle and 13.1 mile (half marathon) run. Her kneecap was in two and a bit pieces two and a bit years ago. The next day Mike will just be running the Great North Run. Only a half marathon (13.1 miles), and it's downhill. But a race like this has looked pretty unlikely through the last five years of sh*te he's been through with his shin injury. We are raising money for the James Whale Fund for Kidney Cancer due to Mike's Dad's recent diagnosis with kidney cancer. He is currently recovering from a successful operation to remove a cancerous tumour from his kidney. Not everyone gets their cancer diagnosed and treated so soon, please give generously.
