Steve Platt is raising £100 for Freedom from Torture
About
It's 30 years since the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 10 December 1984. This is also the 30th year that Freedom from Torture, formerly the Medical Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture, has been working to provide direct clinical services to survivors of torture who arrive in the UK, as well as striving to protect and promote their rights. We haven't been able to stop the torturers, but at least we can help their victims. Since its inception, Freedom from Torture has had 50,000 individuals referred for to it help. Thanks to the dedication of staff and volunteers, thousands of torture survivors have been able to rebuild their lives in incredibly difficult circumstances. I'll be fundraising throughout 2015 to support their work. Please help by making a donation, however small. Every penny raised through this site will go to the charity - there are no fees or deductions.
