Summit Fresh is raising £1,800 for Fresh Start
About
Ladies, Gentlemen, Friends, Donors and all round exemplary folks. First off, huge, huge thanks for visiting our Givey page! Welcome to our page, we are Summit Fresh, a team of graduates from the Royal Bank of Scotland. And why have we brought you here, you ask? Well, we are completing a fundraising challenge to raise as much money as possible in 24 hours for a fantastic local charity, Fresh Start, who support the homeless population in Edinburgh. We have worked up a packed agenda, and our fundraising challenge begins at 5pm on the 27th July. Fresh Start support the transition from homelessness to permanent accommodation aiming to ‘help people make a home for themselves’. The charity works with volunteers in local communities and they offer practical help with everything from decorating to handing out “care packages” and helping vulnerable people integrate into their new community. You can read more information about this fantastic organisation by visiting http://www.freshstartweb.org.uk/. Our Challenge Now we had intended to tackle the mighty Ben Nevis but unfortunately our efforts have been grounded due to a predicted thunder storm, so we’ve put our safety first and rolled onto Plan B…. There ain’t no mountain high enough to keep us from the anniversary challenge! As a team, instead, we’ll be completing something of a triathlon and between us - travelling about 500 miles, we’d even travel 500 more – but this challenge is only 24 hours. We’ll start off our challenge be cycling as far as we can – and there will be a very special prize (definitely a bottle of something) for the person who comments on our Givey page how many miles they think we’ll cycle between us. After that we’re going to race round Edinburgh to complete seven summits, a challenge just over 15 miles in length with 2200 feet of ascent/descent. We’ll be clambering up towards, Calton Hill, The Castle (esplanade), Corstorphine Hill, Craiglockhart Hill (East), Braid Hill, Blackford Hill and Arthur's Seat. After our final decent we will head to Portobello beach where we’ll have a quick dip in the North Sea before racing back to the Royal Bank of Scotland St Andrews Square branch to declare our fundraising efforts – deadline: 5pm. We may not be climbing the UK’s highest mountain but we can still promise you sweat, blood, tears, some light entertainment and updates from the road, and if that wasn’t tempting enough every generous donation will be entered into our prize draw… Prize Draw Any donation made over £10 on the page will count for one entry the into a raffle with a chance to win one of the following prizes – One night ‘s stay in EasyHotel in Manchester 3 sessions at Opatra Edinburgh (worth £150 each) We’ve also got some official Six Nations merchandise up for grabs! Thank you If you’ve read this far, we commend you and in all seriousness, Fresh Start is a fantastic cause. It would be great to raise a big chunk of money for them please help us reach our goal by leaving a donation on our page, all donations, big and small are so much appreciated and thank you so much in advance! Big Love, Team SummitFresh Alex, Jenni, Nav, Rachael, Rob, Ryan & Sophie When you make your donation through Givey, the Charity receives 100% of the donation.
