Support the GARNETHILL MULTICULTURAL COMMUNITY FOOD HUB a partnership of Central & West Integration Network and Garnethill Multicultural Centre in the basement at 21 Rose Street. Open on Thursdays and Fridays every week for the whole community to access. Open to everyone! A place where people can choose what food items they want and pay a minimum price for it in a more dignified and entitled way. (Membership fees = £1.50 for asylum seekers and anyone getting benefits from the Home Office; £2.50 for people on Universal Credit or other kinds of benefits and a "Solidarity" fee of £5.00 for anyone in paid employement, not getting any benefits.) Much of the food we distribute is collected by our wonderful team of volunteers from shops and supermarkets around the city before it is thrown out. Between it's opening in February 2022 and June 2022 the Community Food Hub has distributed over 10 tonnes (10,000kg) of food to over 750 households in Glasgow - saving at least 5 tonnes from landflll! Saving money and the environment! We need your cash to help buy essential food items such as eggs, rice, fresh veg and fruit for families to take each week.
