raised of £3,000 target from 80 people

Anyone who knows me knows that my life was hit by tragedy when my beautiful seven year old son died after a short battle with cancer. The trust we set up in his memory provides vital support to local children with cancer and their families. I want to raise much needed funds to continue this work, and also to support two charities close to my heart - Make A Wish UK and Children With Cancer UK. Over the last 18 months, running has done wonders for my mental health. Each day without Harry is so tough that I couldn’t even begin to put how I feel in to words. It’s just an ongoing and never ending hell. Running gives me head space and time to think, to cry, to channel my emotions and to talk - yes I talk as I run, nattering away to my patient and kind running buddies! It has also helped me to lose the four stone I put on comfort eating after Harry died, and so hopefully I’m a little healthier too - this is important to me as I have an older son who needs me to be strong (and also here) for him too. Hopefully running will help be around for him for a long time. So my challenge is this... To run a half marathon every month during 2020, including the Great North Run AND To run at least one full marathon in 2020 - I have a place in the Virgin London Marathon in April and I am scouting marathons for the autumn at the moment to see what’s out there and what’s possible. Who would have thought that the girl who spent hours forging notes to get out of cross country at school would even consider going for a run, never mind running so far and so often! I know this is going to be really hard and that it’s going to take all I've got mentally and physically and will not be easy in any way. If you can spare a little to help motivate me in 2020 I would be so very grateful, as will the three charities who will benefit from this challenge. Thank you 😊🐸❤️🏃🏼‍♀️
