About
My beautiful seven year old son died after a short battle with cancer in 2014. The trust we set up in his memory provides vital support to local children with cancer and their families. I want to raise much needed funds to continue this work, and also to support two charities close to my heart - Make A Wish UK and Children With Cancer UK. Over the last 18 months, running has done wonders for my mental health. Each day without Harry is so tough that I couldn’t even begin to put how I feel in to words. It’s just an ongoing and never ending hell. Running gives me head space and time to think, to cry, to channel my emotions and to talk - yes I talk as I run, nattering away to my patient and kind running buddies! So my challenge is this... To run at least one half marathon every month during 2020! I was supposed to be taking part in the London Marathon in April 2020 and the Great North Run in September 2020, but COVID-19 has put a stop to that. However I will be running my own marathon on 4th October in Shrewsbury, and my place in the 2021 London Marathon and Great North Run are guaranteed- this will turn in to the 2020 and 2021 Challenge! I know this is going to be really hard and that it’s going to take all I've got mentally and physically and will not be easy in any way. If you can spare a little to help motivate me in 2020 (and now 2021 as well!) I would be so very grateful, as will the three charities who will benefit from this challenge. Thank you 😊🐸❤️🏃🏼‍♀️
