We are fundraising in support of the East Manchester Community Boat Project (EMCBP) to raise vital funds for a new generator for their canal boat. By walking the Cheshire ring, a 100 mile loop of 6 canals through the heart of the North West of England.
Based at Portland Basin on the Ashton Canal, EMCBP offers a completely free service to the community. Founded in 1994 and registered as a charity on 26 January 1996, the project was created to provide a free day out on the canal for people who may be disabled or otherwise disadvantaged.
On 28 February 2013, EMCBP became a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO number 1155976). Its purpose is to support social welfare by providing facilities for recreation, education, and leisure to people primarily in East Manchester and the wider Greater Manchester area who require such opportunities due to disability. Where capacity allows, the project also supports individuals facing social or economic disadvantage, helping to improve and enhance their quality of life.
This generator will help ensure the boat can continue operating safely and reliably, allowing EMCBP to keep delivering these invaluable experiences to those who need them most.
