Tom Taylor is raising £100 for Northorpe Hall Child & Family Trust
About
It's 33 years since I arrived as a fresher at Ilkley College to join the Community Studies and Youth Work course. I met George and Simon there and we've been friends since. They have both run marathons and somehow persuaded me that I could run a half marathon. I signed up for 2020, and have had a whole extra year to get ready for 11 July 2021. I don't really feel ready. I've only ever gone that far once and I walked a fair bit of it. My friends are talking about finishing times - I'm just talking about finishing. My ideal running distance is about a sixth of a marathon, not a half. I can eat a whole marathon bar though. I run for my health and mental health. This time, I'm also running for local children's mental health. Until Sept 2021, I work for Northorpe Hall Child & Family Trust and all your donations will go to this fantastic Kirklees charity. To encourage me to run faster and you to donate, I'll also be donating a pound for every minute I finish behind my friend George. I'll spend the warm up time tying his shoelaces together. Thanks for your support.
