Vincent Roland Pietersz is raising £250 for Nakuru Children's Project
About
This summer, on the 11th of July, 30 people from 6 universities across 4 units sponsored by the British Military will be travelling to Kenya where we will be volunteering for 3 weeks. The first and second week will be used to build a dormitory for a disabled volleyball team (with the hopes of building an ablutions block and classroom)! In the third week we will be challenging ourselves in the sub Saharan environment by climbing Mt Kenya, rock climbing and mountain biking. However this is not our only aim! Before we go we have to fundraise 500 each to give to two charities; the Nakuru Children's Project and the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. These are two extremely worthwhile causes: The first being a project set up which provides food and education to primary school children so that they stand a better start in life and get the nutrition they need for a day in school, whilst the latter is a conservation project. The Nakuru Children's projects are undertaken in close partnership with Nakuru Worker's Primary School, a public primary school in the suburbs of the town. We respond to the needs of the local community, identified and analysed by our Kenyan project managers. Our project managers are all teachers at the school, and give up their time voluntarily, out of dedication and love for the children in the community. This page will hopefully raise the half that will be allocated to the Nakuru Children's Project Please donate as much as you can and help a great cause!! If you would like to donate please use half your donations to my other fundraising page (http://www.justgiving.com/Vincent-Pietersz). If you are experiencing any problems or wish to donate in a different way, please don't hesitate to contact me!! v.r.pietersz@ncl.ac.uk
