I’m running a 10K for something that feels incredibly close to my heart 💛
The charity I’m supporting, Cities for Children, was founded by my sister with a simple but powerful belief — that every child deserves the right to a childhood. A childhood where they feel safe, where they’re free to play, and where they have the chance to learn and grow.
Growing up, I was lucky. My siblings and I were given a childhood that was full of curiosity, imagination, and encouragement — largely thanks to our mum, who made growing up feel magical. She nurtured our ideas, even the completely nonsensical ones, (I was convinced I was going to join WWF or be an astrophysicist making important discoveries about the universe, only to end up being a tech consultant...). She supported our dreams, and showed us that learning doesn’t just happen in classrooms — it happens in everyday moments, in play, in curiosity and in feeling safe enough to just be a child.
Not every child gets that chance.
Cities for Children exists to change that — to create spaces and opportunities where children can experience the kind of childhood that shapes confidence, creativity, and hope for the future.
So I’ll be running this 10K not just as a challenge for myself, but as a way to give back and help make that kind of childhood possible for more children.
If you’re able to support, donate, or even just share this, it would mean a lot 🤍
