U3J are taking part in the First Give programme and are raising money for LeatherHEAD START, a charity that improves the lives of homeless people in the local area. When we were deciding which charity to support, we were worried for the homeless people we see on the streets and the challenges that they face on a daily basis. LeatherHEAD START provides emergency, short-term accommodation for homeless men and women over the age of 18 and will then provide them further support to help them settle into longer-term accommodation. We are raising money and awareness for LeatherHEAD START because we feel passionate about helping everyone have the best chance in life. On the 26th March 2026, we will be walking 10 miles to raise awareness about the charity and raise money to support their work. We are are aiming to raise over £1,000 as a result of our sponsored walk. Thank you for making a donation through Givey.
