Alex Whitehouse is raising £200 for Active Training and Education (ATE)
About
I'm at it again - this time it's a 24 hour relay run for one of the charities which is very very important to me and you've probably all heard far too much about, ATE! The GreATE 24 Hour Run is a fundraising event run (literally this time!) by volunteers from Active Training and Education (ATE). In short, our volunteers will be in a continuous relay for 24 hours- at any one time, one of us will be running, walking or crawling around a 2.5 mile circuit by the River Severn in Worcester, to help raise funds that will support the organisation's mission. ATE are a charity who run residential summer camps for children aged 8-16 in the UK. We have over 50 years’ experience (formerly as ‘Colony Holidays’) in running summer camps. ATE aims to bring children together for adventure and play in unique residential settings. It provides safe, worthwhile residential experiences to children from a wide range of backgrounds, and trains adults who provide such an experience. ATE widely promotes the value of play and related activities and to give as many children as possible access to our unique repertoire. We aim to stretch and challenge children’s imaginations and expectations of themselves and to increase their confidence and self-belief. A Superweek provides new activities and experiences for children; new hobbies, new games, and new friends and allows children to discover new talents and interests.
