Story

BCRT funds research into the causes and treatment of primary bone cancer. Primary bone cancer occurs most commonly in young people aged between 10 and 20, and affects about 400 people a year in the UK. Although five year survival from childhood cancer in the UK has now reached 75 per cent, and for some types is over 90%, survival for osteosarcoma the most common type of childhood bone cancer has not improved in the last 20 years, remaining at about 60%.
