Shona Campbell is raising £3,000 for Friends of Seaview
About
Who are we raising money for? The national theme across the wider UK BSU teams this year is to support children with disability and learning difficulties and from a Scottish perspective we have chosen to support "Friends of Seaview". Based in Edinburgh, the Seaview Centre provides short breaks for children aged 5-17 with a range of disabilities and support needs providing a welcoming home from home for the children whilst giving parents and carers regular respite time. This year the charity aims to provide some specially adapted outdoor equipment to be installed in the garden with the money raised going towards a wheelchair swing, adapted bike, plants and outdoor art equipment. This is a cause that resonates with the team personally as Seaview actively supports our friend & former secondee Shona Campbell and her family. What are we doing? As part of our efforts to raise funds for this charity, the team (Andy Foster, Matt Bentley, Alan Frain, Nick Harley, Raj Ramamurthy, Laura Stephenson, Simon Bou-Khalil and David Stevenson) together with Shona and another former secondee, Jamie Nellany, will be undertaking a challenging 16 mile hike from Pitlochry to Kenmore along the famous Rob Roy Way on Saturday 14th May 2016. The hike involves scaling a height of 1,180 meters and a total ascent of 1,850 meters and will be a test of endurance for a team of mixed ability and age!
